Tree care is your chance to help ensure that your young tree becomes a large tree and a healthy one. It is essential, and it's not as hard as you think. It includes watering, adjusting the support hardware, mulching, weeding and pruning.
Want to learn more about tree care? Become a tree care volunteer! Call (415) 561-6890 x102 for more info or visit our calendar. Most workdays, we have a free training workshop for new volunteers. You'll get instruction and also learn by doing! Space is limited, always RSVP.
We offer a pruning workshop about 4 times a year. Led by a Certified Arborist, learn the basics of pruning by professional standards (ISA, International Society of Arboriculture).
If you had FUF plant your tree, you can expect periodic visits during the first five years of the tree's establishment. If you did not plant through FUF, please see DPW's map to see if DPW can care for your tree. If you are unsure, please see our tree care resources page.
For unscheduled visits, you can contact us. However, if you are having a tree emergency (I.E. your tree is on the sidewalk), please see our Oncall Tree Care page.
